"Support your Troops" Event -
(LCRW) November

It's that time of the year again when Lawrence County Republican Women
ask for community and corporate support with their annual "Support your Troops"
Event. This year instead of collecting items to send, LCRW will be participating
in the "Comforts of Home" program which will benefit our troops deployed
abroad.
An $11.35 donation, ($10.00 + 6o cents tax + 75 cent service fee) sponsors
an Avon Cares USO2GO Kit which includes 5 full-size toiletry products to
express your gratitude to our brave service men & women overseas. You
can also send a personal message of encouragement with each kit. Additionally
$4.00 of your $10.00 donation goes to the USO's USO2GO program to help provide
emergency relief, family assistance, entertainment tours & more! We encourage
corporate sponsorships too. LCRW will recognize all individuals and companies
who purchase 10 or more kits on Facebook, newspapers and various medias after
the event to let our community know you care!

LAWRENCE COUNTY REPUBLICAN WOMEN

In past years, Lawrence County Republican Women has supported our troops
with care packages. We have collected items from our club members and from
the community, and boxed and shipped the items overseas to our troops. It
has been a great project, but very labor intensive and costly.
I recently found a better way to do the same thing. The Avon USO2GO program
sends the troops five full-sized toiletry products (two deodorants, one lip
moisture therapy, one shampoo and one conditioner). Of the $10 cost per kit,
Avon donates $4 to the USO for emergency relief, family assistance and
entertainment tours. Avon handles all of the shipping and handling.
This is a fabulous public relations project, as we put notices in our
local papers requesting community support. It also confirms and demonstrates
to folks in our neighborhood that Republican women do more than get Republicans
elected. We are also actively providing service to our community, state and
national endeavors.

 NFRW Winning Web of the
Week
Congratulation to the South Dakota Federation of Republican Women for
having their website selected as the NFRW Winning Web of the Week. Please
take a look at www.sdfrw.org . This is a fairly new site for the SDFRW.
The committee was impressed with its eye appeal, ease of navigation and
their clever use of Mt. Rushmore! The events are very current and all of
their links work -- which is vital. Many thanks to South Dakota Federation
President Cynthia Matson for submitting their application.
